According to the 2006 Canada Census of Statistics Canada (the next census is this year), there are 389,550 Filipinos in Canada, about 1.25 percent of Canada's estimated population of 31.3 million in 2006. In other 2006 tabulations, more than 400 thousand Filipinos were counted. Counts differ because some people check two or more nationalities on the census forms.
Since about five years have passed, it's expected that the number is higher. There are more female Filipinos than male Filipinos, based on the census.
There are also more Filipinos than Latin Americans, Arab people, West Asians, Koreans and Japanese and other Southeast Asians. The whites and others predominated, as follows:
Population Groups | Total | Male | Female |
Whites | 24,920,465 | 12,248,075 | 12,672,390 |
